By Sharon Sullivan

In lawns, you are guaranteed to find a variety of trees which are of some significance to the life of the owner. The trees sometimes shed their leaves making the compound look dirty. The job of raking has turned out to be hectic and tiresome and may even lead to backaches or blisters on your hands. To get the best out of your lawn, you must be careful on who you entrust that job to. You have an option to choose between manual and automatic to rake the leaves. To help you get the work done, you need a leaf raking robot.

The size of the machine is important in that it determines the amount of leaves collected. It is good to buy equipment that is big in size to enable you work on a large area for a short time. However, you should also consider the storage of the instrument in relation to the size. Do not buy a machine that will be so big for you to store in your garage or basement. It should be portable too.

The power to be used in operation of the robots is crucial too. Utility bills can get high when they are not controlled. You need to watch out for them if you do not want to be spending much of your salary in meeting bills. You might not have a lot to show for your hard work in this case.

You need to investigate the rake width before you buy the instrument. Purchase a machine that has the widest rake to help you collect a lot of leaves at a single time. Equipment that collect leaves in bulk with each pass takes a shorter time to rake the whole lawn. The cables should be long enough to run across the garden and properly insulated.

Pick the machine whose height will be comfortable for you to use. Do not go for the one that will require you to bend most of the time, these will give you backaches. It is advantageous to purchase equipment that has adjustable heights. Such machines are suitable for use by people with different heights.

When the handle is not comfortable, you might injure your hands in operation. Therefore, rubber coating should be fitted at the handle. The manufactures are varied meaning that each of them will use different items in cushioning the friction parts. You should settle with what is comfortable on your grip even if it is not rubber.

The volume of the bag is important since it is the primary storage for the collected leaves. After raking, the leaves are dumped into the bag that comes with the machine before you can take them out and place them in the garbage cans. The bags should be large and easily accessible to enable you empty and clean it properly.

Purchase a machine whose price you can afford. Both the initial and maintenance costs should not be too high that you will not be able to pay. It is however important to not look so much into the prices that you forget to consider the quality of job done by the apparatus.
